The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is a United States-based nonprofit that seeks to educate the public about diabetes and to help those affected by it through funding research to manage, cure, and prevent diabetes (including type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and pre-diabetes). They were founded in 1939 and conducted programs in all 50 states reaching out to hundreds of communities. This site has a message board for individuals with diabetes and for those who have been recently diagnosed. Other boards on this website focus on diet, exercise, and the latest diabetes news. People can order from ADA’s extensive publications to listen to or join live question-and-answer sessions with diabetes experts.

Philippine Center for Diabetes Education Foundation, Inc was established in 1990 by a group of dedicated Filipino physicians, Dr. Augusto D. Litonjua, and some civic-minded citizens. Twenty-five years later, the Diabetes Cente has helped establish lives up to its very ideals- to educate every diabetic Filipino patient the best way they can. The Center has lined up a program of activities carefully planned and executed with the end view of meeting both short-term goals and long-term strategic objectives. They offer an intensive, rigorous 5-day course that allows the attendee to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they will require to embark on a career of patient education.

The Department of Health (DOH) s the executive department of the government of the Philippines responsible for ensuring access to essential public health services by all Filipinos through the provision of quality health care and the regulation of all health services and products. It is the government's overall technical authority on health. DOH has diabetes department care, prevention, and workshops to bring awareness of diabetes disease. Among the purposes for which the DOH Diabetes was founded were to foster and support studies and researchers on the prevention and care of diabetes mellitus, including cooperation with government agencies to this effect; to collect, analyze, interpret, interchange, and disseminate information about the disease in accordance with the latest findings, and to this end, to affiliate or establish relations with other diabetes institutions in other countries; and finally also to promote understanding of the individual's diabetics to lead normal and valuable lives and conduct a Diabetes Detection Drive to find undiscovered diabetics.
